activities

Here are a couple of activities I did with the girls this week that were fun and I thought others might like to try. I got them off this cool website. We did the Sponge Painted Earth and the Moon Prints. I know you think I'm too scheduled, but I have to schedule stuff or it just doesn't happen. I have firmed up my activity time with the girls so that I will actually do something with them every day. So here is my schedule. Monday - Craft/Art Project, Tuesday - Music, Wednesday - Science Activity, Thursday - Cooking/Baking, Friday - Games, Saturday - Field Trip or Movie, Sunday - Journals. If you have any ideas for any of those areas or any other areas I'd be very happy to hear about them.

my bedroom so far

So here is the beginning of a beautiful bedroom. Alan helped figure out how to paint it. The wall with the love seat will be dark blue and the rest of the room with be an off-white or cream color. The curtains will be changed to sheers, dusty rose. There will also be a dusty rose valence with the blue one. What do you think?

Some thoughts

I sit here thinking while Alyssa systematically takes each piece of paper out of the box Alan's cell phone came in and tastes it. Some must be better than others because she chews some to shreds and others just get tasted and discarded. Apparently the instruction booklet is yucky whereas the receipts are tasty. She just looked up and grinned her sweet baby smile. I love babies!! Especially my own. She's cutting a new tooth on the bottom and she's learned to cover her eyes with her hands to play peek-a-boo. She bobs her head to singing from anyone, usually Sarah and Emmie and loves to play. She thinks wearing shoes is cool and will stick out each foot for a sock and shoe. Her favorite thing to chew on is Potter's bone and paper. Naturally this is because I take them away whenever I catch her with them. She is adjusting to Lactaid milk although her diapers are still pretty runny. She's laying her head on my lap so it must be time for a nap, although she is a very cuddly baby even when she's not tired. I'll be back later...

Concern for poor Alan

I sold the headboard and some concern for poor Alan concerning the bed is pouring in. Not wanting to impose too girly a bed I am posting this link for the style I would like in my room and you can vote on whether it's too much for a manly man like Alan. Of course even if you vote against it I will prob. do it anyway. Here is the style I am going for. And here is the canopy I've ordered with which I will try it.

Whoa Baby!

Alyssa didn't sleep well last night. We thought she had a tummy ache. Today after Stake Conference while we were getting lunch ready Alan smelled something suspicious. Alyssa! She had made such a blow-out diaper. She had been sitting in the entryway playing with Potter's leashes which we keep in that closet and then moved to the stairs. There was a pile of mess in one spot, and I do mean pile, on the wood floor and then several patches between there and the stairs. Good thing Alan scooped her up when he did. We took her up to the bathroom where we stripped her disgusting clothes off her and then showered the mess off before filling the bath to bathe her. Holy Mouskins! What a mess! I think she's competing with her cousin Matthew. Fortunately for us we could strip her and clean her up unlike poor Matt.
