Getting excited

Even though I'm slightly afraid to get my hopes up still, I have to admit that I'm getting excited about this baby. (Just typing that makes me think that something will go wrong and I won't be bringing home a live baby, but as Alan says regularly I keep assuming that what I do, think, or feel might somehow control the outcome.)
Anyway, Alan put together the crib and changing table last night after I wiped all the pieces with lysol wipes. Then we arranged and rearranged the nursery and I washed the crib bedding. Today after my ultrasound which still shows a healthy growing live baby, I rearranged it again and spent hours putting it together. I opened up a box of diapers and stacked them in the diaper holder. I hung up the curtain and put baby wipes in the wipes holder. I actually went so far as to pack the diaper bag and made a list of all the stuff I used to have but don't, like baby wash for example. It was so fun. Alyssa helped me put the freshly washed basket liners back on and carry stuff to put in the baskets. She liked helping to make up the crib and thought the bumper pads were weird pillows. It was way more fun than cleaning the bathrooms.

whiskers

Last Friday evening Alyssa fell out of her booster chair onto the kitchen floor and split open her chin. So...she has stitches. Fast forward to today at lunch when I asked her to say the lunch prayer.

"...and thank thee that the doctor can take out my whiskers tomorrow and that I named my bat Batty..."

Baby Jonathon

Me: Alyssa, Rob and Dawn picked a name for their new baby. His name is Jonathon, but they will call him John.
Alyssa: So they will call him John the Baptist?
