Twin cousins

So Emily got into Sarah's markers this morning and chose ...you guessed it, Purple! She first decorated a section of carpet before moving on to a section of wall on the stairway to the family room. Fortunately she only did a little in both places before I noticed. The carpet cleaned up fine, I am now converted to that stainmaster spray we got free as part of the carpet cleaning. The wall needs paint anyway but the purple is very faint. Thanks magic eraser.

Emmie doesn't like swimming in a not-warm bath outside. But I love her little swim-suit. It looks small because she has a swim-diaper on. Posted by Hello

The girl's new swing-set. Thanks to Coralee and Corey for helping. Posted by Hello

Emmie is trying to be like Sarah, but is unsure about the hot cement. Posted by Hello

Here is Emmie in her bonnet. Isn't she so cute! Posted by Hello

Here are the girls fingerpainting with pudding. Sarah had a great time but Emmie couldn't figure out how she was supposed to eat it without a spoon, bowl, and just one finger-dip at a time. Posted by Hello

Here is the skirt which you can't see very well in this picture. Sorry. Posted by Hello

It raining...again

It's raining again. I must admit that I am really sick of the rain. I am grateful, don't get me wrong. I have not had to water anything since I planted it, except once. Still I am edgy today. I can't justify why I am grumpy but I am a little. I need some sun! Can you really wake up when the sky is gray all day? I feel sleepy and sometimes depressed. I am one of those people that needs sun. (I couldn't live in Seattle.) We prayed for snow and rain and it has come, now I am thinking of praying for a break from the rain. Just 2-3 days in a row would do it I think.

my dream bed

This is my dream bed. Isn't it so romantic! I would put sage green sheers around, but not over, the canapy and have them drape down on all the corners. I would put the same kind of sheers on my windows.

If I could be...

If I could be the current famous political figure (I don't want to be married to one) I would set up really really stiff penelties, such as they have in Europe, for drunk drivers. Oh, and I would push to create eunechs out of repeat sex offenders.

If I could be a chef, I would plan delicious meals every night and not worry about the cost involved and actually like cooking. Actually I would never really want to be a chef.

If I could be a librarian I would make a web-site with cross-curriculum learning activities involving my favorite books.

If I could be anything I wanted I would be Mary Poppins, practically perfect in every way. I would never be cross or explain anything. I would take the children on really cool adventures and speak with a British accent. I would tidy up the house by snapping my fingers and wear neat hats and pretty dresses every day. But, I would have to be married to Alan also and I only want to be Mary Poppins if I can have my own children and Mary Poppins would be the mother not a nanny.

After Emmie was dressed she was apparently unhappy with the clothing selection and went to get a different shirt. This is her attempt on her own to get her other shirt on. Posted by Hello

Here is one of the snakes living in our bush. This one is the larger one and so we assume the female. Posted by Hello

Stanley has both fists full so he decides to gather more the fast way...directly into the mouth from the floor. Posted by Hello

snakes in love

We have two garden snakes living in the fir bush outside our front door. They are a fascination for me and since they pose no threat to myself or my family we have decided that they may stay. Hopefully they will keep the mice out of our yard. Sarah is learning about good and bad snakes and how we don't touch them.

I bought it.

Well I did it. I bought the skirt this morning. I tried so hard to talk myself out of it all weekend but I wasn't very successful and myself went and bought it anyway. But the good thing is that I got 10% off by applying and being accepted for a Dillards credit card. Don't tell the Dillards people that I am going to cancel it as soon as I pay for this skirt.
