Alan cooked
Alan made dinner tonight. He made mabo dofu, or something similarly named. (I'm too full and comfortably lazy to go check.) It was a delicious blend of tofu, chicken, spinach and sauce stuff served on a bed of rice. I steamed some yellow and zucchini squash as my contribution. We also had marinated cucumbers. The girls eventually ate it, mostly in order to earn the right to desert. I thought it was great! Yummy. Thanks Love.

I'm cured
I've been pestering Alan for a new puppy. He very emphatically says "no!" Then we puppysat, and are puppysitting again, my friend Windy's dog. She is really cute but I forgot how much work puppies are. They must be watched almost constantly and given appropriate things to chew. But she is really fun. She chases her tail and spooks at everything, bounding into the air and flipping around. She and Potter play well and the girls love her. Today we are going to work on training her to come, sit, and alert when she needs to go outside. This has totally cured me of wanting a puppy. I will gladly tend Shnoake until Windy is well and then happily give her back.

Insights on Men by Brian
This conversation occurred between my nephew Brian, 4 years old, and my mom.
Brian: Sarah and Whitney really like each other. I can tell because they like to play together and talk to each other.
Mom: That's right Brian. You are pretty smart to figure that out.
Brian: Yeah, I'm pretty smart for a man.
