Alyssa's lesson

For FHE Alyssa was in charge of the lesson. She didn't want help. When it was her turn she said she was thinking. After a few minutes she said she was ready. Her lesson? Don't look at the sun because it can blind you and also open your eyes when you paint fingernails or you might get the polish on your skin.

No more office

In preparation for our new baby (knock on wood) we are turning the office into Sarah's new room. We have now moved the desk unit out into the family room and last night Alan and I had a bit of fun going through stuff we've accumulated. That is, I had fun and Alan survived. We found some computer games that he hasn't played in years but that he still wishes he had time for. Myst worked on the computer and he thinks he can get Riven to work with some tweaking. We found a game that had a floppy disk. (I think "floppy" is a stupid name for something that is not floppy. In my mind the original disks from when I was in elem. school were floppy.) Anywoo, we have still a bunch more disks to go though but already a whole bag full of cables and cables and other stuff attached to cables for the DI. (Which reminds me if you need cables or an old cd player/diskman type thing, speak now or forever remain without cables.)

That was not what I was going to blog about. That was all a side note.

Today I moved Alan's clothes from his dresser into my dresser, which is technically still mine even though it now holds his clothes. To do this I had to put a lot of my clothes into a storage tub. (Alyssa just came to me wearing sunglasses, a crown, and holding a mirror and wand. She asked me if she looked silly. I said she did. "How dare you say I look silly," she replied and repeated it twice more before she took off the sunglasses and said, "Now do I look not silly?") In order to make room for all the stuff in his closet I folded a bunch more clothes that were hanging in my closet. I think this will still not be enough. I'm sad to say I have too many clothes which I didn't realize until today. The problem partly is that I have maternity clothes in addition to most of my non-maternity clothes still in my room. Also I've never had to switch clothes depending on the season. I've always had every item I own in my dresser or and closet. Moving Alan's stuff into my room is sort of a pain. I think in fact I will have to call it 'our' room from now on, though he may still not want to claim it based on the stuffed animals and doll that reside there. We still haven't come up with a plan of where to store the scout backpack and other camping gear that sits on the floor of his closet. But that is a problem for another day. Right now I have to reassure Potter that thunder and wind are not scary or dangerous.
