one expensive mutt

Although we budget $30 a month for our mutt we only really use it every other month when we get him groomed. Grooming Potter ranges from 30-37 depending on the groomer and whether she had her prozac for the day. January was a whomping $198! First we got him groomed and then he ran out of dogfood. That is $18 every 3 months or so. Then last Sunday he mysteriously hurt his tail. We don't know how this happened except to guess it was when he was rough-housing with the neighbor dog in the snow. Anyway, on Monday he still wouldn't raise his tail up and so we took him to the vet. The $96 x-ray showed no broken bones. :) Good. But he did have some bruising and swelling where the tail attatches to the rump. So he got some anti-inflamitory pills, and a mild laxative so as to not hinder outside activities when it might otherwise be painful. He seems to be happier today and has even waved his tail a couple of times in a normal fashion so I guess it was all worth it.
